About

Join us for an absorbing In Conversation with award-winning producers and co-founders of Like a Photon Creative, Nadine Bates and Kristen Souvlis. The co-CEOs of "Brisbane's DreamWorks," Bates and Souvlis are part of a small group of trailblazing women in the Australian animation industry. Like a Photon have made a splash on the international stage, with films released around the globe and their recent The Sloth Lane 2024 premiering at the prestigious Annecy Animation Film Festival in France. They have overseen the production of more than $50 million worth of films over the past decade and have worked with stars from both Australia and abroad, including David Wenham, Deborah Mailman and Nick Offerman. Bates and Souvlis will discuss their incredible careers and how they broke onto the international stage from the Brisbane backyard.

This conversation — the first in a new series focused on Australian screen creatives — will be moderated by the BAFTA and AWGIE award-winning screenwriter, script producer, playwright and author Anthony Mullins.
