About
Join QAGOMA conservators as they reflect on their collaboration with the Museum of Art and Photography (MAP), Bengaluru, to document and conserve a rare collection of works by Indian artist Ravi Varma.
This talk offers a behind-the-scenes look at the landmark conservation and research exchange between QAGOMA and MAP – an initiative that not only preserved an important cultural collection but fostered knowledge sharing and strengthened cultural ties. A selection of the conserved works are featured in the exhibition, ‘The God of Small Things: Faith and Popular Culture’.
The exhibition will be open for viewing from 5.15–6.00pm prior to the talk.
This program, and QAGOMA’s conservation and research exchange, is supported by the Centre for Australia-India Relations. QAGOMA is proud to be a recipient of a Centre for Australia-India Relations Maitri grant.
