About
Join us for an afternoon of independent filmmaking from the South Pacific territory of New Caledonia. Continuing the Australian Cinémathèque’s ongoing exploration of regional filmmaking communities, these short films showcase a selection of exciting creative visions from across the archipelago.
Screening a few days following New Caledonia’s ‘Citizenship Day’ – which celebrates the territory’s unique identity, diverse cultures and peoples – the films will be presented across two sessions, introduced by Dr Yves Lafoy, Official Representative of New Caledonia to Australia and Counsellor for New Caledonia, Embassy of France and Dr Ruari Elkington, Senior Lecturer in QUT's School of Creative Practice.
This event is sponsored by the Government of New Caledonia and its Delegation in Australia, in partnership with Alliance Française de Brisbane, Ambassade de France en Australie, Centre de Rencontres et d'Echanges Internationaux du Pacifique (CREIPAC), and Association Calédonienne des Producteurs de Fiction (ACPF).
